A third-sector corporation called the Biwako Lakefront Center\u00a0\u00a0(\u3073\u308f\u6e56\u30ec\u30a4\u30af\u30d5\u30ed\u30f3\u30c8\u30bb\u30f3\u30bf\u30fc), established in 1989 by Shiga Prefecture, Kusatsu, Shiga Bank, and other companies to promote the hotel resort development, was dissolved in Aug. 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The total losses was calculated in March 2009 as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Shiga Prefecture: Loss of 290 million yen.<br \/>\nKusatsu city: Loss of 340 million yen.<br \/>\nShiga Bank: Loss of 460 million yen.<\/p>\n<p>The peninsula already has the <a href=\"https:\/\/photoguide.jp\/pix\/thumbnails.php?album=117\">Mizunomori lotus pond<\/a> (blooms in July) and <a href=\"https:\/\/photoguide.jp\/pix\/thumbnails.php?album=118\">Lake Biwa Museum<\/a>.
