\u306a\u3093\u3068\u5609\u7530\u77e5\u4e8b\u3082\u98db\u3073\u5165\u308a\u3057\u3066\u82f1\u8a9e\u7248\u300c\u7435\u7436\u6e56\u5468\u822a\u306e\u6b4c\u300d\u3092\u6b4c\u3046\uff01\u5149\u6804\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

On Oct. 20, 2007 (Sat.), an event called Umizukuri Boat Festa \u6e56\u3065\u304f\u308a\u30dc\u30fc\u30c8\u30d5\u30a7\u30b9\u30bf was held. It was a dragon boat and canoe race between Otsu<\/a> (near Ishiyama) and Ogoto.<\/p>\n

After the race ended, a mini concert featuring cute kids playing the \u3088\u3057\u7b1b reed flute<\/a> (made from reeds in Biwako) was held in Ogoto (Opal) next to the lake shore. Jamie Thompson sang Biwako Shuko no Uta<\/a> in English as they played the song with the flute. (Her twin sister could not attend and neither could I).<\/p>\n

And then a surprise. Shiga Governor Kada Yukiko went on stage and began singing in English with Jamie!! (See photos above.)<\/p>\n

Wow, what a great honor. She’s a real people’s governor.<\/p>\n
